Moved, A Surprise, and Alabama Blogger Meet-Up

Well I'm back!  I apologize for my lengthy absence.  But I have been BUSY!  Stick with me, it's a long post, but you'll be rewarded if you missed out on it the first time!

I finally got to move to Alabama to be with the hubs.  The move itself was comical.  Well lets back up a little.  This will explain my absence a little...
 me.

Anywho, we said goodbye to Arkansas and hello to Alabama!  But the move was anything but smooth.  We hired movers to come and load the truck for us because I wasn't going to be of much help.  Mr. Coach was unable to come home because they had football camps but my wonderful dad came in town to help me and drive the truck.  Well, the movers were 4 hours late and then they were incredibly slow loading the truck.  We had to be in Alabama at 8:00 the next morning to meet Mr. Coach and the other movers to unload the truck.  We didn't leave Arkansas until 8:30 that night.  We arrived in Alabama at 6:30 the next morning.  EXHAUSTING!!!  Luckily I got to sit in a chair, on the front porch, and direct where everything went.  I said that I wanted to be every move if I was going to get the royal treatment like this!  haha.

We have everything moved in and my mom even came and stayed for a few days to help me decorate.  She is a genius when it comes to these things!

I know I am not the only elementary teacher with this much stuff.  It's actually quite embarrassing.  The price you pay to have a fun classroom!  As I mentioned before I am still looking for a job.  I have a couple of leads but living in a college town it is extremely tough to come across a job!  So say a prayer because we need that awesome teacher insurance more than ever right now!

What better way to get back into the groove of things than to go meet up with some amazing bloggers!  I am too pumped for this!  I can't wait to meet everyone that will be there.  Jennifer over a First Grade Blue Skies is the one putting this together!  I may have a little panic attack on my way there at meeting her.  Seriously though!

Tomorrow begins the start of Mr. Coach's vacation so we are making a little trip up to Atlanta so we can go to lunch and then to IKEA!  Love that place.

I joined bloglovin'!  You can find me here!

Also here is a little measurement freebie that I posted a couple weeks ago!

I promise not to be gone so long next time.  I will be back to tell all about the blogger meet up! EEK!

Five for Friday+ a FREEBIE!

I truly hope that all you wonderful teachers had a fabulous Teacher Appreciation Week!  I sure did and if you stick with me you can see why at the end of my post!  I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching, "Five for Friday!"  Sorry if this is long winded.  I have a tendency to explain things a bit!

1.  "The big hairy woman ate a little green dinosaur."  First graders crack me right up!  During center time one of my little cuties came and got me so I could see his "hilarious" (his word) sentence!  I laughed out loud.  Hey at least they are building sentences!  This game is called "Silly Sentences".  I got it from Lakeshore and it is a class favorite!

2. P.E. Olympics "Dance Off"- We seriously have the most fun P.E. teacher.  She does P.E. Olympics every year and the kids just LOVE it.  They have class challenges, individual challenges, and finally the dance off.  All the teachers look forward to this every year and we gladly will give up our planning time just so we can see our kids break it down.  I will proudly say that I have got some talented kids who can drop it like it's hot!

3.  Assistant Principal/ High School Boys Head Basketball Coach/ Fill-in Lunch Lady
Our sweet lunch ladies were short-handed the other day and asked our A.P. to help them out.  He was a little too excited about doing it.  He stopped in my classroom to tell me that he was doing it and he was so excited.  Well during our lunch the firefighters came to do one of the spontaneous drills.  So here is our A.P. directing everyone.  It was a pretty humorous day!

4.  Bear- This is the face that I have to stare at everyday when I am getting ready for work.  Seriously.  Is this not just the saddest, cutest face you have ever seen.  I always tell him I will be back later.  I don't think he believes me.

5.  Teacher Appreciation-  I don't need gifts to let me know that I mean a lot to my kids, but man it sure does feel nice!  But really, I feel appreciated everyday of the year with all the handmade pictures, flowers picked at recess and all those other little gifts we receive.  But this was sure a nice "happy"!

6.  Flying home- I got to visit Mr. Coach last weekend.  The countdown is on... in about a month I will finally be living in the same place as my sweet hubs again.  School is almost out and that means I get to move!  Still haven't found a job yet so please please pray that I will get something soon!

Here is a freebie I offered last week but just in case you missed it!
Click on the pic to go to my store to get it!

I know that was actually 6 things but it was a pretty packed week and I couldn't leave anything out!  I hope everyone got a lot of wonderful things at the Teacher Appreciation Sale.  I had a few things bought from my store.  Still working on new things and trying my hardest to get my name out there!  Hope everyone has a great weekend friends!

Rockin' Roll and Read + a Freebie!

Happy Sunday friends!  Who's ready for a little Rock n' Roll?  If you can hang with me for a bit I have a surprise for you at the end!

Well I just got done cranking out a new product.  It's a Roll and Read for Fry's 1st 300 Sight Words.  Let me just tell you, my kiddoes LOVE doing roll and read.  It might help a little bit that they get to use the jumbo dice that I have.  But, regardless they like it!  What they don't realize is that it is helping them to build their fluency while they are playing a fun little game.  This can be done with a partner or independently.

There are 15 different game boards with each board containing 20 different sight words all mixed together!  Endless fun right here!  If you want to check it out go ahead and click on the picture below!

Ok so I went to Target today and of course had to hit up the Dollar Spot.  I. Have. A. Serious. Problem.  When it comes to Target I have always had a problem.  But every since the started the Dollar Spot years ago, it has gotten 10x worse!  I wanted to share with you a few of the things I got!

They have so many great books right now!  I cannot wait to put these at the reading center.  My littles are just going to eat them up!

Ok the magnifying glasses are my favorite.  I am planning on putting them with the Rockin' Roll and Read for them to use.  It will make it all so much more fun.  I am a bin fanatic.  I plan on using these puppies for holding center materials or counters.  And who can ever have enough file folders?  Especially these cute ones!  My files just got so much more fashionable!

If you hung in with me, then I have a little freebie for you.  Click below on the picture to pick up Fry's First 100 Sight Words Game Boards.  I just loved how these turned out.  They are so cute!  Thanks for dropping by and I hope that these are something that you can use!

The first 2 people to pin this activity and post the link in the comment will get the Full Rockin' Roll and Read sent to them!

Cloud Writing FREEBIE!

Hi friends!

I have a little freebie for you tonight!

This is a great little writing activity to use after reading the story "Little Cloud" by Eric Carle.
Click on the book to go to Amazon to purchase!
The story is about a little cloud that changes into different objects.  Students will write about a shape or object that they have seen in the clouds, and then draw a picture of what they saw!  It is a great tool to use for making a text to self connection.  This would be great to use when teaching about weather and have the students go outside and observe the clouds!

Just click on the link below to go straight to my TPT store!

Cloud Writing Freebie!

I hope that you can find a use for this.  My kids LOVED doing this!  There writing was fantastic!  I am hoping to be back tomorrow to participate in the Five for Friday.  Have a great Friday!

Where I've Been and Freebies!

Yeah...so....I have been a little bit of a slacker on this whole blog thing.  But I am back and creating things!  I have been all sorts of busy lately with school but also experiencing being a football widow and it's not even football season!

Let me give you a little a background.  I am a football widow.  My husband, we will call him Coach, just got a new coaching job as a Defensive G.A. at an SEC school!  I couldn't be prouder of all the hard work he has put in to get there.  We have been doing this for 2 years and while it is hard, I couldn't be happier!  The bad news, I am here finishing out my year all by my lonesome.  It's a 7 hour drive so it's not like I can just hop in the car.  Some people may call me crazy for doing it but I just love me some college football and my Coach is definitely worth it!

All this being said, I am hoping to whip out some products for your enjoyment.  Hopefully I can get a few new followers too!  I will be back soon to update on all the goings on in the 1st grade!

Check out my two new products below! And guess what... They are both FREE!!!

This is a little writing activity to go along with the book "Love Splat".
Can I just tell you how my my firsties love this book?!  It is a huge hit.  We did this writing this past week and created a little love splat craft to go along with it.  I will take a picture this week and post it!

Teacher Tidbits Notebook Dividers!  These babies have kept me all kinds of organized this year!

Don't forget to be Awesome friends!
